This exceptional antique stiletto is carved of real ivory with a variety of petal like designs through the center. It reverses to screw into the handle so that the point is protected. It has a nice patina and pronounced ivory grain. The condition of the ivory is excellent with no chips, cracks or other damage. It screws together perfectly in both directions. It measures 3" long closed and 4 1/8" open....

This style of stiletto was very popular in the early 19th century when delicate silk bags were used to store needlework projects and tools. The handle also serves as a sheath to protect the point. It unscrews, reverses, and then screws back into the handle for use. The ivory has turned carving and everything screws together perfectly. Aside from a U shaped surface hairline crack, it's in excellent condition with no chips, loss or other damage. It measures 2 1/8" long closed and 2 5/8" open and was bought in England. It has a very nice ivory grain pattern....

Outstanding Antique Dieppe Carved Ivory Needle Case * C1800
This wonderful needle or bodkin case was all hand carved by the famous ivory carvers of Dieppe, France in the late 18th or early 19th century. The top slides on and off. It is decorated with scrolling grape vines and bunches of grapes. The top and bottom have a flower design. The fineness and detail are outstanding and the patina and ivory grain are lovely. The only damage is a deep chip in the sleeve under the top and tiny nicks at the top and bottom edges that have worn smooth with age. Antique Carved Canton Floral Tatting Shuttle * C1820
This beautiful tatting shuttle is hand carved of ivory and has a nice ivory grain pattern. It was made in China for English export in the early 19th century. It measures 2 5/8" long by 3/4" wide and was probably made for a sewing workbox. Both sides are deeply carved with scrolling floral designs and it has lots of room for the thread (unlike most in this style). Aside from a short hairline edge crack on one side, the condition is excellent with no chips or other damage and the points are intact....

This pretty little crochet hook is carved of real ivory. The top is carved with a beautifully turned design and there are four tiny ivory rings that slide around as you move it. The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or other damage and it was purchased in England. It measures 5 1/4" long and has nice ivory grain and patina. The hook is intact and is about the same size as a modern or European size 1.8 mm....
