This very rare and complete chatelaine has the waist plaque and matching sewing tools all carved from ivory and mounted in brass. The tools include a thimble case and thimble, a needle case, a pin cushion/disc, an aide memoir and a scissors sheath with scissors.
The tiny steel scissors are 2 1/2" long and are in great condition with the original polished surfaces. The blades are tight with intact points and they cut like new to the tips. The thimble in the thimble case is brass. It is also in excellent condition with no holes or damage and is about an American size 7-8 (14.8 mm diameter opening). The aide memoir has three ivory sheets and all of the ivory has a nice old patina. The brass fittings and decorative scrollwork is also in great condition.
All of the ivory attachments are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other damage and they are all original. The waist plaque measures 1 1/2" wide and the chatelaine is 14" long from top to bottom.
