This little antique egg is smoothly carved of real ivory as is the thimble inside. It unscrews in the middle and screws securely closed, but you have to fiddle a bit to get the threads lined up properly. It's excellent condition with no cracks or loss and it measures almost 1 3/8" long and 7/8" in diameter.

The thimble is in great condition with no damage. It is about an American child's size 4-5 (12.7 mm diameter opening). The patina and ivory grain on both pieces is lovely.
