The blade of this wonderful tortoise shell and silver fruit knife is hallmarked with a Sheffield sterling silver mark and the duty mark for King George III. The sides are inlaid with silver piqué dots in a running diamond design.

The carved tortoise shell scales have lovely color and patina and are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or insect nibbles. The blade is intact and also in great condition with no bends. It closes well and dates to the early 19th century. The silver spring cover has a diagonal pattern and it measures 3 1/4" closed and 5 3/4" open.
