This little stiletto is beautifully carved of real ivory. It reverses to screw into the handle so that the point is protected. It has a nice old patina. The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or loss and it screws together perfectly in both directions. It measures almost 2 1/2" long closed and 3" open. A slightly plainer example is shown in its workbox on p. 102 of Nerylla Taunton's book "Antique Needlework Tools and Embroideries".
