This little antique piece is carved of real ivory with the center stained to create a reverse image of various flora. I can make out a thistle, tulip, berries and a variety of leaves. This style is generally called Tyrolean or Black Forest work, though it was probably made in Switzerland. <\/b><\/big>The handle also serves as a sheath to protect the point. It unscrews, reverses, and then screws back into the handle for use.<\/b><\/big><\/p>\n
The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or loss and everything screws together well. The point is nice and sharp and it measures 2 5\/8″ long closed and 3 3\/8″ long open.
