This lovely antique letter or paper knife has a sterling silver handle embossed on both sides with an ornate scrolling pattern. The middle is pierced with a lattice style design. The blade is carved of real ivory. The handle has the English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1896 and the maker’s mark for Charles Saunders & Francis Shepherd.
The condition is excellent with the exception of a scratch at the tip on one side. There are no dents, chips or other damage. The blade is thin at the edge and it measures 6 1/4″ long.
