Antique Carved Ivory Madras Pincushion/Spool Clamp * English * Circa 1820

This beautiful antique clamp is hand carved of ivory and has a lovely old patina and grain pattern. It’s English and dates to the early 19th century. The top has a red velvet pincushion and it looks to be the original cushion, though missing most of the nap. Below that is a spool that removes when the pincushion is unscrewed. The pincushion is decorated around the top with Madras circles and dots.

The condition is excellent with no cracks, chips or other damage. The cushion is intact and the clamp screw screws down tightly and holds for the entire length. It measures 6 1/2″ tall (with the screw half way in as shown).
