This little antique box is ivory and has a carved dragon around the sides and on top. Inside is a tiny child’s English sterling silver (tested) thimble. It’s about an American child’s size 1 (10.8 mm diameter opening). The band is engraved and the thimble is in great condition, crisp and in round with no damage at all.
The box is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other damage and it screws together perfectly. It measures 1″ high x 7/8″ in diameter and has a nice old patina and ivory grain. It was carved in Canton for export to England in the early-mid 19th century.
