Antique English Sterling Silver Filigree Thimble in Case * C1800

This lacy thimble is solid sterling silver (tested) and made of delicate filigree. It's English and dates to the late 18th or early 19th century. It's a tall thimble (1 1/8" - 27 mm) and about an American size 8/9 (opening is 15.5 mm in diameter).
The condition is excellent and it has no dents or holes in the top section. The oval cartouche on the front is not inscribed. Nerylla Taunton shows this thimble on p. 93 of her book Antique Needlework Tools and Embroideries. In is in a silk lined red leather case and fits well.
