This fabulous antique is carved of horn and combines a needle case and thimble holder. The variety of patterns and quality of the carving is amazing. The thimble case unscrews from the needle case and holds an English sterling silver thimble (tested). It has an appled scrolling band and is in excellent condition, in round with no holes, repairs or other damage. It has a shield cartouche (not personalized) and is about an American size 9.

The horn is polished on the high spots and is just lovely. The condition is excellent and the parts screw together securely. The needle case unscrews in the middle as well. It has a lovely old patina and measures almost 4" long. It was bought in England, but the style and subject matter of the carving look French to me.
