She focuses on American shuttles (though covers others) and covers every known type and material. There are chapters on American silver hallmarks found on tatting shuttles, patented shuttles of every description, contemporary shuttles and tatting tools & kits. She covers shuttles made of gold, silver, metal, enamel, ivory, bone, mother of pearl, wood, tortoise, horn and plastic. It is very well illustrated with both color and black and white photos.
