This needle or bodkin case is carved of bone and is covered with tiny glass seed beads in floral designs. The condition is excellent with most of the beads still in place and it fits together snugly. The bone sleeve that slips under the top has a chip on the side.
It measures slightly over 3 1/2" long. This piece is from the collection of Nerylla Taunton and is the actual needle case that was photographed on page 170 of her book "Antique Needlework Tools and Embroideries".
